Pacquiao vs Margarito fight

Pacquiao vs Margarito

There is still no location for the November fight between Pacquiao vs Margarito. But the promoter of Top Rank Bob Arum said that they have some venues that they already look up for. Three states in the US can host a Pacquiao vs Margarito fight because of friendlier taxes, and they’re Nevada, Florida and the new favorite, Texas. The other venues are Abu Dhabi in U.A.E and Monterrey in Mexico. However the three states in the US is still depends on Antonio Margarito if he get his license due to suspension last year by the California State Athletic Commission after he was caught with a plaster-like substance in his hand wraps prior to his fight against Shane Mosley in January 2009. This effectively banned Margarito from boxing in the United States, pending investigation. Margarito claimed he didn’t know about the tampering of the wraps. Margarito is hesitant to re-apply in the California commission because of his lawsuit against them. Arum noted that if Margarito drops this lawsuit, there’s a high chance that Margarito will be granted a license to fight again. Pacquiao vs Margarito will fight for the vacant WBC light middleweight title and if ever will Pacquiao win over Margarito he will be the first boxer who get 8 world titles in 8 divisions. The pound-for-pound king talked briefly about his fight with the 32-year-old Mexican, who at 5’11” is easily four inches taller. “He’s good. He knocked out Miguel Cotto. And he’s as tall as Oscar dela Hoya,” said the only fighter in history to win seven world titles in seven weight classes. The Pacquiao vs Margarito bout will happen this November 13, 2010 after Floyd Mayweather failed to negotiate for a match against Pacquiao. According to Roach their training will start in Manila so he could also perform his duties with Congress, and according to early plans he would move to Los Angeles three weeks before the fight. Pacquiao said despite his bigger role as a congressman, he will not take Margarito lightly. He will train for eight weeks. He said that Margarito is good and he must not underertimate his power. Starting next week, he will start running in the morning. It seems that Pacquiao realize the he will face another tough fighter like Antonio Margarito.
