Donaire vs Montiel
Montiel is known for his patience, toughness and resilience. Thus, it is futile to expect him to get frustrated. He will continue to fight his way inside even if it would mean taking a few shots along the way. Montiel is on a four fight winning streak; he had a draw against Alejandro Valdez in 2009 and a split decision loss to Johnny Gonzalez in 2006. His last victory was a second round KO on December 10, 2010 over Jovanny Soto. Montiel is the fourth Mexican fighter to have won world titles in three different weight classes. Montiel knows Donaire's ribcage problems in the past and the gritty Mexican is an outstanding body puncher. Donaire's stiff jabs will be crucial to keep Montiel at bay, throwing occasional hooks and straights to mount his own offensive. Watch Donaire vs Montiel on HBO Boxing After Dark and the fight starts at 9:45pm.
