Pacquiao vs Margarito Bout Looking Good

Pacquiao vs Margarito

Pacquiao vs Margarito

The Pacquiao vs Margarito bout is really looking good as of now. Bob Arum is now finalizing their November bout for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title. WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will move up to the junior middleweight division to challenge Antonio Margarito. Everybody’s talking this Pacquiao vs Margarito fight on the TV or in the internet, as this future bout is shaping up even faster than the proposed fight between the Filipino pound-for-pound champion and his arch rival Floyd Mayweather Jr. I think its time to forget the mega-fight between Pacquiao vs Mayweather because it would never happen. I think that with all the obstacles standing between Pacquiao and Mayweather for their greatest fight of all time, a fight with Margarito would make more sense and exciting to watch. When Pacquiao decided to choose Margarito instead of Miguel Cotto whom Pacquiao stopped Cotto in the 12th round last November, it will not be marketable and not a competitive fight. I don’t think people believe that it’s enough to make a difference and I’m not sure they would buy it as competitive. So, Pacquiao decided to fight Margarito because it would be perceived as a more competitive bout. Pacquiao wants to get a new division title before he retires. He eyes Miguel Cotto who also has a middleweight championship belt after Cotto beat Foreman, and there’s a vacant WBC Junior Middleweight title so either way, he gets a crack at an eighth world title in eight different weight divisions. Bob Arum is now busy finalizing other terms and deals between the two fighters so that these Pacquiao vs Margarito fight will happen later this year. Arum said he plans on finalizing the deal with Pacquiao next week. If the fight happens between Pacquiao vs Margarito, a major press conference will take place early August. The next problem will be the venue for this Pacquiao vs Margarito fight. There so many places has already in consideration to be chosen Mexico, Abu Dhabi and only three states in the US can host a Pacquiao vs Margarito because of friendlier taxes, and they’re Nevada, Florida and Texas. But when it comes who aired the bout it will be offered on HBO pay-per-view (PPV).
