Pacquiao vs Margarito replace Mayweather

Pacquiao vs Margarito

Pacquiao vs Margarito

So it is really confirmed that the next fight of Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao will be Antonio Margarito of Mexico. WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will move up to the junior middleweight division to challenge Antonio Margarito for the vacant WBC title on November 13. That ends any possibility of a match between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., the top two boxers in the world, for 2010. Manny Pacquiao already agreed to take a blood test 14 days before the fight but Mayweather still demanding for more. And when Bob Arum gives Mayweather’s camp a deadline to agree on such terms Mayweather’s camp did not response. Manny wants to and has to fight in November. So they have to proceed in getting him an opponent and wrapping up a fight. So, Pacquiao vs Mayweather, goodbye! Weeks later, Arum decided to either Cotto or Margarito will be the next for Pacquiao. If Pacquiao face Miguel Cotto a second time or take on Antonio Margarito for the first time. Either way, he gets a crack at an eighth world title in eight different weight divisions. For Pacquiao, whatever will happen on November against Margarito, winner or lose he will retire in boxing.

Bob Arum head of Top Rank and promoter of Pacquiao decided to choose Margarito instead of Miguel Cotto, whom Pacquiao stopped in the 12th round last November, because it would be perceived as a more competitive bout. I don’t think people believe that it’s enough to make a difference and I’m not sure they would buy it as competitive. Once the fight is sealed, either between Pacquiao vs Margarito, a major press conference will take place early August. It will be Margarito’s first fight since he lost to Shane Mosley in January last year when he was caught using, without his knowledge as he claims, illegal hand wraps, leading to the suspension of his fight license in the United States. If that would be Margarito’s next fight then we will apply for a license in the state that the fight is going to take place and it couldn’t be in California for the reason that Manny Pacquiao won’t fight in California because of state taxes.

Only three states in the US can host a Pacquiao fight because of friendlier taxes, and they’re Nevada, Florida and the new favorite, Texas. If Margarito fails to get a license in Nevada, the fight will be held in Monterrey, Mexico. Margarito, who stands 5-foot-11, enjoys a 6-inch reach advantage over the 5-foot-6 Filipino boxer. Pacquiao said he has no problem about climbing weight to face the Mexican. Pacquiao vs Margarito. If Pacquiao gets $30 million or more, this is a great challenge. Both are at the peaks of their career. Antonio is good, but Manny has already proven that he is unbeatable, fearless, skillful and a great giant killer. Antonio is the last great Mexican world champion standing. When Manny beats Margarito like other great Mexican champions, he will be considered the best in the world. With this fight there is no question that Manny will shatter Oscars vs Floyd's record ppv of 2.44 million. Its time to shock the world again Pacquiao vs Margarito is on. Arum said he plans on finalizing the deal with Pacquiao next week. Arum said Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz will lay out the terms of deal to the Filipino. So, lets all wait and see the final deals between the two camps.
