Pacquiao remains unperturbed despite lighter weight

Pacquiao vs Margarito
Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao remains unperturbed despite the disparity in size with opponent Mexico’s Antonio Margarito during Friday's weigh-in proceedings. Pacquiao tipped the scales at 144.6 pounds, nearly 6 pounds lighter than Margarito, who came in at 150.

"I'm not worried, That's what we did for training — train hard. My weight came down from what it was to make me faster.” he said

Pacquiao’s camp is reportedly expecting him to weigh around 147-148 pounds.

His Canadian business manager, Michael Koncz, explained that the boxer got caught in "the excitement of the fight" and did not do his usual 4 or 5 meals a day.

Margarito, on the other hand, looked like he drained himself to make the 150-catch weight limit.

He’s expected to blow up to 160 to 165 pounds upon rehydration. And this could pose big problems for the smaller Pacquiao.

But like his ward, coach Freddie Roach did not appear disturbed about Pacquiao’s weight.

"I think we will overwhelm him with the punches (Manny) will land on him with the fast hands and combinations," Roach said .In 8 or 9 rounds I think we will break him down.”

He said Margarito will beat himself out because of his deficiencies as a fighter. He added that Pacquiao will take advantage of these weaknesses.

"Margarito throws a lot of punches and he makes too many mistakes to beat us. He has bad habits and we are going to take advantage of all of them," said Roach. Justify Full
